Book Reviews: My Rating System
Five Stars
☆☆☆☆☆
- I would absolutely reread over and over again
- I would recommend to everyone I meet
- It completely changed my life/perspective
Four Stars
☆☆☆☆
- Overall, the book was definitely a fantastic read but there is just one thing (maybe two) that I needed more of from the book whether that be more character development, background, or context
- I would highly recommend to everyone and loved the book — it just barely misses the five stars threshold
Three Stars
☆☆☆
- A pretty good book despite a few issues
- I had to get a few chapters into the book before I started to enjoy it
- I wouldn’t reread - Two Stars- ☆☆
- I didn’t love the book, but it was absolutely awful
- It had more than a few issues (for example lack of character development or no plot) - One Star- ☆
- I don’t often review books that I consider to be one star because I prefer to promote what I love rather than bashing what I didn’t. However, for context, a one star read is a book that I typically DNF (do not finish) for a variety of reasons
