A New Season

This blog post is inspired by two of my favorite bloggers — Books and Peonies & Barefoot Blonde both of whom create such unique, genuine, and engaging content. This post, in particular, is inspired by their “12 Things” blog posts that they typically share monthly or bi-monthly. I personally love the idea of sharing a blog post that really is just my stream of consciousness in a digestible list format. All that to say, that I am going to try this “12 Things” in a modified version aka 10 Things and see how I enjoy it.

Let’s jump in.

  1. I chatted a few times on Instagram about how much I struggled this past month finding time to read, but it was all worth it because I went into November feeling very inspired.

  2. I finished up two books so far in November — both solid thrillers (The Family Upstairs and Someone We Know).

  3. I spent most of October cuddled up in front of the fire-pit in my backyard, a glass of pinot in hand, surrounded by my friends, boyfriend, and dogs.

  4. I turned 27 at the end of October — I celebrated in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina with lots of mimosas, good food, and a terrible hangover (hello, late twenties!).

  5. My new favorite show is Nancy Drew on The CW — it reminds me of Riverdale or Vampire Diaries. I think if you are a fan of either, you would enjoy it.

6. I listened to this podcast with Sivan Ayla where she talks about how she only washes her hair like once a week because she “trained” it to not get as oily and now I am in the process of also trying to train my hair — we will see how it goes.

7. I tried Orange Theory for the first time this past week and I have barely been able to walk, sit, or move since. I am so out of shape, but I am really hoping to fix that. I always feel better about myself and more focused throughout the day when I start my mornings with a sweat.

8. I think my tastebuds are changing because foods I used to love (tomatoes, grapes, certain candy flavors), I now hate, and foods that I used to hate, I now can’t get enough of (onions, tuna, etc). Has this happened to anyone else?

9. I got bit by a dog last month at my friend’s wedding and it is literally just now completely healed.

10. I started working with a photographer who is also a really good friend of mine in order to start posting more quality content on my bookstagram account and it has been so much fun. I am so grateful to have a creative outlet to pour my heart into and creative friends with who I can share the experience.
